The Quincy High School tennis team hosted its 32nd annual Quincy Invitational last Friday and Saturday, April 23-24.
The eight-team tournament featured more than 60 players from as far away as Etna and West Sacramento.
All the players enjoyed sunny weather and the pristine tennis courts at Quincy High School and Feather River College.Quincy’s Anthony Braddick (pictured on the left) won the men’s championship last Saturday. Plumas Christian’s Catherine Cruse (pictured right) helped her team place second overall.
After two days of play, River City won first place in team points; followed by Plumas Christian in second, Chester in third, Etna in fourth and Quincy in fifth.
In men’s singles, Quincy’s Anthony Braddick won first place, and Chester’s Jamie Parker took second place.
In women’s doubles, Chester’s Brittaney and Allysha Mattingly captured second place, while Quincy’s Paige Massey and Lauren Braddick claimed third place.
In men’s doubles, Plumas Christian School took second place with Carson DeCrona and Jono Robinette, and third place with Cole Peard and Nick Shirk. Quincy’s Kobe Barker and Braddick earned consolation.
“The Quincy Invitational was a huge success,” said Jerry Sipe, who helps coach Quincy. “A great time was had by all.”
