Forest Service invites Civic Center to participate in heat conversion project

Indian Valley Community Services District directors tonight, Wednesday, May 12, will hear about an invitation to participate in a countywide Forest Service project.

According to district General Manager Leanna Moore, the Forest Service has funding available that could be used to retrofit the civic center for a wood-pellet system for heating, cooling and electricity.

The district would be a very small part of a countywide project, she said.

As of press time she had no written information about the project to go with the invitation, nor was she expecting Forest Service representatives to be there.

Directors of the Indian Valley Community Services District meet the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., in the Civic Center at 430 Main St. in Greenville.

Agendas, minutes and recordings of the meetings are available on the Internet at indianvalleycsd.com, then click on Agendas and Minutes, and the links to recordings may be found at the bottom of the agendas, usually within a day or two of the meeting.

    For more information, call 284-7224.
