 80 YEARS AGO... 1930
    June 8 has been set as the date for the official dedication of the Quincy aeroplane landing field. At least eight aeroplanes will be present at the field's dedication. Buzz Morrison of Reno will be on hand with the wonderful sister ship of the "Spirit of St. Louis". A grand ball will precede the night before. Admission to the flying field: 50 cents. Admission to the grand ball: $1.50.

50 YEARS AGO... 1960
    The annual Plumas County picnic will be held this Sunday where a free barbeque and a full day of activities are planned.  Chefs will prepare over a ton of beef, 500 pounds of beans, 300 loaves of bread and 200 gallons of coffee.

30 YEARS AGO... 1980
    Advertisement: Quincy's Wonderland Bakery will be selling  "Queen of Hearts" tarts in honor of Quincy High School's production of Alice in Wonderland, the musical, this week.
    Betty Sine of East Quincy has been appointed as new Plumas County Fair director by the Plumas County Board of Supervisors, replacing Archie Hamlin of Graeagle who recently resigned after serving 28 years on the board.

10 YEARS AGO... 2000
    Nearly one million dollars has been spent for improvements to the Plumas-Sierra County fairgrounds in the last 4 years under the direction of fair manager Mike Clements and the fair board. The fair has spent some  $67,500 and the Plumas County Board of Supervisors has contributed $157,600 to upgrading the facility.
