Residents of Blairsden are planning the formation of a corporation and the selling of stock to secure funds with which to erect a hotel consisting of 20 to 30 rooms to replace the Blairsden Hotel, destroyed by fire weeks ago.
50 YEARS AGO.....1960
Liquor stock valued at approximately $470 was stolen from the Crescent Hotel and Bar last week. More than nine cases of liquor was taken. Entrance to the building was made by breaking the hasp off the garage and going into the basement where the liquor was stored.
30 YEARS AGO.......1980
Travel adventures in Plumas County and Feather River country were the topics of two features appearing in regional magazines this month. Both Sunset Magazine and New West Magazine highlighted recreational and camping sites in the area.

The Storrie fire that began August 17 has covered 40,510 acres and the cost has exceeded more than $10.5 million and has been declared 62 per cent contained to date.
