Traveling westbound: the closure will be located 2 miles southwest of the intersection with Bucks Lake Road in Meadow Valley.
Traveling eastbound: the closure will be located 7.5 miles east of the Haskins Tee intersection near Bucks Lake.
Traffic control will begin Wednesday, September 8 with a stop sign controlled, single-lane detour at the site. Complete road closure is scheduled for September 16 while the contractor constructs a retaining wall. The estimated time for the closure is 6-8 weeks.
During the closure through traffic traveling between Bucks Lake and Meadow Valley will be detoured onto the Bucks Lake Road, County Road 414. Recreation Vehicle drivers please note: Buck's Lake Road is winding and very steep. Please use low gears and drive safely.
Also please be advised that the contractor is tentatively scheduled to transport a large crane from the bridge construction site at Grubb's Cow Camp (Grizzly Creek, west of Bucks Lake) to Quincy on Sept. 7th. The transport vehicle for the crane is required to be escorted by California Highway Patrol because of its size so please expect delays.
If you have any questions, please call the Federal Highway Administration at (530) 283-4010.
