CalTrans reports that work on clearing the slide is completed and that Highway 70 is now open.
The California Highway patrol has just announced that two large rock slides are blocking both lanes of Highway 70 blocked in the Feather River Canyon. The first slide is 2.6 miles east of Rich Bar and the second is 4 miles west of the Greenville Wye.
The slide near Rich Bar is reported to be ten feet high across both lanes.
CalTrans is closing the highway at the Greenville Wye on the east side and Big Bend Road on the west side.
This information will be updated as soon as more is known.
