75 YEARS AGO.......1936
Twenty-eight acts participated and competed for $40.00 in prize monies in the Plumas County Amateur Hour Show last night in Quincy and the 45 cent admittance fee for the the show benefitted the Plumas County bands. The $15.00 first prize was won by the Davis boys of Quincy who were costumed in Raggedy Andy outfits and sang two country boy songs.
50 YEARS AGO.......1961
Advertisement: Luck of the Irish specials for St. Patrick's Day advertised at local grocery stores this week-corned beef 68 cents per pound, cabbage 5 cents a head, green spinach 21 cents a can, green pickles 25 cents a jar, green avocados 4 cents each and green artichokes 5 cents each.

Mary Mooney will retire from the a position she has held for the last ten years as Plumas County Auditor/Controller effective in June after 27 years as a Plumas County employee.
