The Plumas County Board of Supervisors gave their approval to clear the county's portion of Bucks Lake Road, a partially paved stretch of mountain road which links Plumas and Butte Counties. They are requesting that Butte County do the same with their portion of the road. This would provide an alternate route following the closure of Highway 70 through the Feather River Canyon from the floods and slides of February.

Plumas County Administrative Officer Jim Stretch, often referred to as the sixth board member of the Plumas County Board of Supervisors, has resigned effective May 1. He has been in that county position for nine years April 6.
