Opportunity to Comment on the

Martin Allotment Project

The Almanor Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is initiating scoping for the Martin Allotment Project. The Martin Allotment covers approximately 5,577 acres of National Forest System (NFS) lands in Tehama County, northwest of Chester, California. Information and maps detailing the proposal are available for review at the Almanor Ranger District Office.

The proposed action for Martin Allotment is to continue to permit livestock grazing under an adaptive management system that moves resource conditions toward meeting Forest Plan objectives and desired on-the-ground conditions. The proposed action would include revision of the Allotment Management Plan (AMP) which is a special management provision to the grazing permit. A complete AMP would be developed incorporating the NEPA decision.

This comment period is intended to provide those interested in or affected by this proposal an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to a decision being made by the Responsible Official.

How to Comment and Timeframe

Written, facsimile, hand-delivered, oral, and electronic comments concerning this action will be accepted for 15 calendar days following publication of a notice in the Chester Progressive newspaper.
