“Bocce Ball is a very social game which can accommodate people of all ages, skill levels and abilities,” said recreation and park district manager Jim Boland.
The bocce ball courts were constructed by the Quincy Rotary Club as a community service project in June 2010. Participants are invited to bring their own bocce balls if they own a set, otherwise “loaner” balls will be made available by the district. “This will be a great opportunity to try out a new (to Quincy) and exciting outdoor sport, and also to consider the chance to join a new bocce ball league.”
The district also plans to have a set of hot coals available at the barbecue adjacent to the Rotary Pavilion for anyone that wants to barbecue a meal after the clinic. For more information regarding the bocce ball skills clinic, contact Boland at the district office, 283-3278.
