Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project Closeout- The purpose of this hearing is to notify the public about accomplishments funding by the grant and for the City Council to accept the final products. The "Parks and Recreation Master Plan" and "GIS Base Maps" components of the City's Planning and Technical Assistance (PTA) Grant will be presented.

Your comments and attendance are encouraged.

Any person interested in the above proceedings may appear at the time and place listed above to testify in favor of or in opposition to this item. Bids for city paving

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the Clerk of the City Council of the City of Portola, California, in the office of the Clerk, City Hall, Portola, California, up to 2 o'clock p.m., June 8, 2011 for the 2011 Paving Improvements in the City of Portola, in accordance with Plans and Specifications on file for said Work in the office of the Clerk of the City Council, at which time they will be publicly opened and read at the same address.

Proposal forms for this work are included herein.

General work description: 75 ton of 2" overlay paving between Gulling Street Bridge (MFFR) and UPRR overpass bridge as shown on the project plans.

Bids must be on a unit price basis. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. Submit your bid with bidder's security equal to at least 10 percent of the bid. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond.

Complete the work within 5 working days.

The estimated cost of the project is $16,240

No prebid meeting is scheduled for this project.

The city will open and publicly read the bids at the above location immediately after the specified closing time.

At the time this contract is awarded, the Contractor shall possess either a Class A license or a combination of Class C licenses which constitutes a majority of the work.

The Contractor must also be properly licensed at the time the bid is submitted, except that on a joint venture bid a joint venture license may be obtained by a combination of licenses after bid opening but before award in conformance with Business and Professions Code, Section 7029.1.

This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990.

Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening. Any such inquiries or questions, submitted after bid opening, will not be treated as a bid protest.
