Many sets of whiskers are appearing around the county in preparation for the Greenville Firemen's annual Gold Diggers there this weekend. An air show will be held on Sunday at the new Indian Valley airport near Taylorsville as an added feature of the program this year.
50 YEARS AGO... 1961
Nearly a ton of prime graded beef has been ordered for the Plumas County Picnic to be held next Saturday at the Plumas County fairgrounds in Quincy. The noon lunch will be served free and will include barbecued beef, western beans, bread and coffee.
25 YEARS AGO... 1986
Chester businessman Dennis Durkin has purchased the Shop 'N Save Supermarket in Susanville, one of the four chain supermarkets that have been sold by the Chico based company recently. Durkin also recently built the Chester Village Market and Deli with a partner. The Susanville store will be renamed Village Market.

Mike Tedrick was this week appointed as the new auditor of Plumas County, filling the position of Mary Mooney who retired before the end of her elected term.
