Butte jumped ahead 4-8 in game two, forcing FRC into a timeout. The Golden Eagles evened the score at 13-13 and continued to a 16-14 advantage, until Butte called a timeout. This allowed the Roadrunners to run the next five points and then work out to a 24-20 advantage.

Game four was also closely played, and the score was tied 15-15, until Feather River suddenly went on a 10-1 run to win 25-16 and end the match.
The national anthem was played by Johnny Walker on harmonica at the beginning of the match. The FRC volleyball team is 15-0 over the past four years when Walker has performed.
