polka dot’s 50th b’day party

Rae and Mel Lancaster are having a party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Quincy’s legendary fast food eatery, the Polka Dot. It’s June 1, from 5 to 10:30 p.m., featuring live music, boat races and face painting for the kids, arts and crafts and specials in dedication to Quincy Little League.

 

coffee depot opens weekends

In addition to opening during the week at 6 a.m., Nichole’s Coffee Depot on West Sierra Avenue in Portola is now open on the weekends through mid October. The weekend hours are Saturday 7 a.m. –

2 p.m. and Sunday 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. Regardless of whether you dine in or use the convenient drive-through, the menu features delicious, homemade breakfast items complemented by an extensive coffee selection.

 

DOGGIE TREATS

Treats Dog Company in Chester and Susanville is now an authorized dealer for the Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro-Plan and Eukanuba lines of pet foods. Animal lovers and storeowners Monte and Joanie Kielty said they are happy to be carrying these new lines for their customers — and more importantly, for their customers’ pets! These brands are available at both of their locations.

Margie Meeker, owner of Country Style Family Hair Care in Greenville, just returned from the 65th annual Spring Style Show in San Jose. She loves going and keeping up to date with the latest in hair styling, coloring, cutting and related beauty products, adding that she always returns re-energized and excited about sharing what she has learned with her customers and staff.

Ginger McLaughlin has added the new and impressive Peacock Tanning Booth to her full service salon offerings at Lake Almanor Nail Spa in the heart of Hamilton Branch. She also wants it known she will honor any unused tanning packages purchased at the now closed Cutting Edge in

Chester.

In June Rick and Laura Marchus are celebrating their 10th anniversary as owners of Quincy Carpet & Window Care, providing carpet cleaning, window washing and janitorial services. As a way of thanking the community for its support, Rick and Laura are rolling back their carpet cleaning prices to what they were when they bought the business in 2002.

 

Laura Semrau of Essential Skincare & Reflexology on Main Street in Chester is also celebrating her 10th year in business. She offers Murad facial treatments, reflexology sessions and waxing. With relaxation and pampering in mind, Laura has added organic bath soaks and skin care products produced in Greenville by Heaven Sent and Angel Kisses.

 

Two family-owned Graeagle businesses, Cast-a-Weigh Cruise Agency, owned and operated by Zoe Le Barron Wolf, and Cast-a-Way Consignment Shoppe, owned and operated by Art Wolf, celebrate their second successful year.

 

Ken and Debbie McMaster, owners of The Gold Rush Gallery, mark their eighth year in Graeagle this coming Memorial Day weekend. Their 33 years of creative and custom jewelry designs are complemented by a successful blend of American-made fine crafts.
