Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club
On Tuesday, May 29, the Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club had a fun play day. The “game” was Best 2 Net Balls of the foursome team on the holes that started with T or F; therefore, nine holes counted for the game.
The winning team consisted of Mary Ann Crowe, Jenine Fraser, Laurie Mckenzie and Arline Simpson.
Jenine Fraser pulled off a Birdie on No. 5.
We continue to have awesome weather this spring and the course conditions improve by the day! We look forward to all of our ladies returning to “The Ranch” for a wonderful, fun-filled summer! Happy golfing....
Mt. Huff Thursday Evening Scramble
The days are getting longer and the golfers are increasing in number! We had a great scramble on Thursday, May 31, for the evening scramble.
First place team members were Ron Ridge, Jim Bryant, David Smuts, and Ralph Cote.
Second place team members, Jerry Quam, Barbara Quam and Loren Lindner.
Closest to the pin was Jerry Quam and the longest drive was scored by Barbara Quam.
Plumas Pines Women’s Golf Club
For the eighth consecutive year, women from Graeagle Meadows, Plumas Pines, and White Hawk Ranch competed in the Three Day Combined Eclectic. The best scores on holes 1 through 18, regardless of course, is used to determine low gross and low net winners. Thirty-three golfers participated in the flighted event.
Whitehawk Ranch hosted the opening day of the tournament.
Low gross winners for the day in their respective flights were Priscilla Piper, Gail Nelson, and Annie Fischer.
Kathy Sipel, Suzie Wiese, and Janet Grijalva took low net honors.
Day two was played at Graeagle Meadows. Winners in the low gross category were Priscilla Piper, Barb Crist, and Lorraine Cornish, and low net winners were Annie Meyer, Gail Nelson, and Cathy Cianciolo.
The final day of play took place at Plumas Pines. Prizes for low gross and low net over the field went to Priscilla Piper and Cathy Cianciolo, respectively.
In the Plumas flight, Bev Reynolds took low net honors; followed by Kathy Sipel in second place; Annie Meyer, third; and Marcia Ziegler, fourth.
Eureka flight results were as follows: Suzie Wiese, first; Mary Stonebraker, second; Scooter Kidwell, third; and Gail Nelson, fourth.
The Sierra flight first place honors went to Annie Fischer, Janet Grijalva in second, Lorraine Cornish took third, followed by a tie for fourth by Mary Blaylock and Connie Raheb.
Awards were presented at a luncheon at Longboard’s following the final day of play. Those who participated in the tournament commented that they enjoyed the opportunity to play the three different courses and to meet new people. They also liked the format, which allows the golfer to improve her score each day.
Graeagle Meadows Women's Golf Club
On May 31, the Graeagle women played their monthly Ace Of Aces tournament. Those who qualified for the final tournament in September are Low Gross: Holly Anderson (96). Low net qualifiers are Gail Nelson (72) and Donna Swanson (72).
The regular play of the day also included the following winners. The First Flight winner for Low Gross is: Holly Anderson (96). First Low Net winners is: Gail Nelson (72). Second Low Net winner is: Alaine Flynn (76).
In the Second Flight the Low Gross winner is Dee Walker (104). The First Low Net winner is Donna Swanson (72). There was a tie for Second Low Net between Karen Fraser and Carla Gibson at (76).
It’s nice to have such beautiful weather to play golf.
