Lake Almanor Women’s Golf Club

On June 14 we played “Beat the Pro.”

It was really a lot of fun. Our pro, Bill Womeldorf, was a real gentleman. All of us enjoyed the day.

The object was to beat the pro with your net score. If you did you would share in the pot.

Well, five ladies did — Lori Sinclair, Kathy Doms, Linda Kluge, Judy Cooper and Charlene Ferguson.

Two ladies had chip-ins also: Sharon Auge on No. 7, and Lori Sinclair on No. 4.

And Kathy Doms and Charlene Ferguson each had a birdie; Kathy’s was on No. 15, and Charlene had hers on No. 12.

Mt. Huff Thursday

Night Scramble

It is becoming evident the place to be on Thursday nights is Mt. Huff Golf Course for their world-famous Thursday Night Scrambles.

We fielded 10 teams on a beautiful warm evening. Five teams came in at 5 under and after a chip-off the team of Cooper Kingdon, Bruce Walker and Jerry and Barbara Quam came in first, while the team of Zack Russel, Auston Linford, Leaf Van Pelt and Robert Turcotte came in second.

Slammin’ Don Guess had the longest drive and Eagle Eye David Smuts was closest to the hole.

Check-in is at 4:30 and tee-off is at 5; if you are interested call 284-6300 for more information and come on out for a truly enjoyable evening.

We are continuing ladies’ golf at 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, just a fun time with all skill levels welcome.

There is also a Wednesday morning scramble.

Hope to see you out here, the course is beautiful, and you can’t walk away without a good time.
