Originally opened in 1996, Dave Gott has decided to close his popular East Quincy water ’in hole, Sports ’N Shorts. With his deeply rooted family history in the food and bar business in Quincy, I know it had to have been a tough decision for Dave. But those close to him said the upcoming retirement of his longtime manager helped him make this agonizing decision.

merchants welcome frc students
The Quincy merchants are again participating in “WOW,” the Week of Welcome to Feather River College students, their parents and families and college staff, Thursday, Aug. 25, from 4 – 8 p.m. Join the festivities by visiting many of our local merchants perhaps getting reacquainted with all they have to offer.
Now through Sept. 8 you too can play the Eagle Hunt for a chance to win Community Bucks. Clip — or make a copy — of the ad in this week’s Feather River Bulletin and carry it with you to the participating merchants. Then simply write down the number attached to the eagle on display in each store or get the merchant to sign off on the ad verifying your visit. When you’ve visited all the stores, turn the completed form in at the entry box at the farmer’s market Thursday, Sept. 8, or at Carey Candy Co. any time prior to Sept. 8.
