Plumas County Clerk William F. Werner will keep his office at the Quincy courthouse open Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the accommodation of those desiring to register to vote in the upcoming August election.

California's record of progress since its admission to the Union 80 years ago will be strikingly portrayed at the California State Fair which opens this week. The sate fair's theme "80 Years of Progress" was selected to commemorate the milestone.

In Portola: a concert, dancing and a carnival with many concessions, baseball games. In Greenville: dancing all afternoon, 10 cents a dance, a bathing beauty contest, swimming racing and diving stunts and a grand ball in the big, cool pavilion, $1.00 admission.
