75 YEARS AGO... 1936
The Plumas County Division of Highways maintenance station was waiting today for authorization to start clearing Bucks Ranch Road.
A distributing depot for three popular brands of beer was established in Quincy to provide distributorship throughout Plumas County by Bowman's of Chico. It will distribute Golden State, Pilsnergold and Burgemeister beer throughout Plumas County.

The beautiful new grammar school at Portola was presented to the community at dedication ceremonies Monday night. 25 acres of ground was obtained from the Western Pacific Railroad Company, part of it for the school building and part of it for the playfield.

Advertisement: Greenville Theater presents the movie "Annie Oakley" starring Barbara Stanwyck and the Gilda Theater in Portola presents "Curly" starring Shirley Temple.

Announcement: The baby stork visited two homes this week, leaving quadruplets in each case. The Frank McCollum family claims their new Persian kittens are cuter than the Harry Harding family kittens.
