75 YEARS AGO.............1937

The largest newspaper in the history of Plumas County — 44 pages and 4500 total printed copies of the Feather River Bulletin — the voice of the Feather River Wonderland, produced a Feather River Highway dedication souvenir edition and includes data and history of the completion of the major highway project.

The Diamond Match Company announces the completion and opening of its lumber yard and building supplies store serving Quincy and all of Plumas County. Located on Lawrence Street, Quincy Telephone #4.

75 YEARS AGO..........1937

Next Tuesday evenings "Calling All Cars" radio program on KNX will be based on a Plumas County crime. An employee, a waiter in the railroad restaurant in Portola, was shot in a hold up robbery three years ago. The assailant was tried by three juries and sentenced to San Quentin.

A special Feather River Wonderland Highway dedication edition was published this week by the Feather River Bulletin depicting and illustrating the fulfillment of the completion of the Feather River Highway and its dedication to be held on August 14 at Grizzly Dome.

The Biggest Little Show in the West, the 17th annual Chester Rodeo, will be held Saturday. Admission to the 3,000 covered seats is only $1.00 including tax. Bronc and bull riding, wild cow milking, clowning and other features. will be presented. Dancing Saturday and Sunday nights.

Advertisement: Town Hall Theater showing Braddock-Lewis fight pictures Friday and Saturday night.

Deeming that Plumas County roads are not suitable for the operation of snow plows on them, the Plumas County Board of Supervisors decided not to acquire a snow plow this year.
