Keyshawn Johnson scored 21 points for Quincy in last week’s league win against Hamilton.
The Quincy High School boys’ basketball team captured three straight league wins to improve to 10-7 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-Valley North standings.
In last week’s home game against Hamilton Jan. 25, junior Keyshawn Johnson led the Quincy Trojans with 21 points, including two 3-pointers and five of seven free throws.
Justin Lusk and Devonte Smith each added nine points on the evening.
The match began slowly, as more than four minutes ticked off the clock without a basket, until Quincy senior Zack Vaughn finally opened the scoring and drew a foul to give Quincy a 3-0 lead.
Vaughn finished the game a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line.
Hamilton quickly answered back and outscored Quincy by three baskets to take a 10-7 lead, but then Quincy turned things back around to take a 13-12 lead by the end of the first quarter.
