Frenchman Lake
The folks at Wiggins Trading Post (993-4683) report fishing has been excellent all around the lake. The air is a little colder so fishing a bit deeper may increase your productivity.
Don’t forget Little Last Chance Creek. There are only a few days left before the stream season close. One local fisherman fishing the creek used a grasshopper pattern and caught a brown estimated to be 4 – 6 pounds.
Sports
The Quincy High School football team completed its regular season schedule with a big exclamation point last Friday night, when the Trojans defeated Portola 38-0.
With the win, Quincy took first place in the Mid-Valley League and received the number two seed in the Division IV playoffs.
The Trojans host seventh-seeded East Nicolaus this Friday night.
The Feather River College women’s soccer team hosted the Shasta College Knights Oct. 26, and the Knights walked away with a 3-2 conference victory.
The opening half of the match looked promising for the Lady Eagles, as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Sage Clark opened the scoring with a breakaway goal just eight minutes into the match.
