Chester-Lake Almanor Chamber of Commerce director Garn Pringle has announced two new elements to the 28th annual Mile High 100 Bike Ride line-up.
In addition to the traditional choice of three cycling distance courses for the Father’s Day weekend event, there will be a new disc jockey and cowboy poetry.

5/26/2010 - The Portola High School baseball team took second place in the Northern Section Division IV baseball playoffs, after falling 8-4 in the title game against East Nicolaus last Saturday, May 22, at Shasta College in Redding.5/21/2010 -The Portola High School baseball team and Quincy High School softball team each reached their respective Northern Section championship matches, which will be played Saturday, May 22.
The Portola baseball team, seeded second in Division IV, will play top seeded East Nicolaus at Shasta College in Redding at 1 p.m. The Portola Tigers defeated Biggs in the semifinals to advance to the title game.
The Quincy softball team, seeded fourth in Division V, upset top-seeded Hamilton in the semifinals Thursday, May 20, by a score of 6-4. This advanced the Quincy Trojans to the championship game against second-seeded Etna, in Etna at 2 p.m.

FRC’s Mike Van Blarcom, will compete in bull riding.
5/19/2010 - The Feather River College rodeo team finished its regular season stronger than ever in the West Coast Region.
The FRC men’s team won the championship for the third straight year, dominating the region and winning the title by over 1,000 points.
The women’s team also made themselves known by ending the season in a very respectable third place behind Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and University Nevada Las Vegas.
