Feather River softball team wins co-championship

    The Feather River College softball team tied for first place in the Golden Valley Conference with College of the Siskiyous, after each team finished the regular season with league records of 15-5.  

After a tie breaker scenario, FRC is the top seeded team from the Golden Valley Conference going into this year’s playoffs, but as far as conference is concerned, FRC and Siskiyous are co-champions.

Trojans victorious

    The Quincy High School baseball team earned a Feather River League win last Friday, April 16, when the Trojans went on the road to defeat Big Valley 15-3.
    The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Quincy Trojans, bringing their overall record to 4-11.

Portola Tigers defeat Quincy Trojans

The Portola and Quincy baseball teams met for the first time this season at the Winters Tournament last Friday, April 9, with Portola winning 4-3.

The game was not a league match, but the one-run victory indicates the Feather River League could be closely contested this season.

Johnsville skiers take first in Buddy Werner Invitational

    Junior ski racers from throughout the Lake Tahoe region competed in the Buddy Werner Invitational Saturday, March 27, when the Johnsville Junior Ski Team took first place with its A-Team and third place with its B-team.

The Feather River College softball team moved to 6-2 in the Golden Valley Conference after hosting College of the Redwoods and Shasta College March 19-20, and then traveling to Siskiyous College March 24.

The FRC Golden Eagles split with Redwoods Friday, March 19, when they won the first game 5-0 and lost the second game 8-1.
