Sierra Park Homes and the Eastern Plumas and Quincy chambers of commerce are having a mixer and open house Friday, May 30, at 5 p.m. at one of the newest homes in Sierra Park’s subdivision just off of Lee Road at 165 Pony Court in Quincy. Besides enjoying the refreshments and conviviality, you’ll have a chance to tour this very special solar electric and Energy Star certified show home. Also, representatives from Plumas-Sierra Telecommunications will be there to make the formal announcement that this development is the first subdivision in the county to make the new high-speed fiber optic Internet service available to its homeowners. There will also be a fundraiser (drawing for a prize) for Relay for Life.

Rocki Eriksen is have a special grand opening celebration for her Twain business, California Sister Nursery, this Saturday, May 10. Festivities include wine tasting from the LaRocca Vineyards, local art displays and live music. Located in the Feather River Canyon 20 miles west of Quincy, the nursery carries trees, shrubs and perennials. Rocki, who has 30 years of nursery experience, says she specializes in California natives hardy in the Sierra!
