Right in the middle of its busiest hiring season, Pacific Southwest Region V of the U.S. Forest Service has implemented a hiring freeze.

Landmark agreement reached

Resource agencies, conservation organizations, recreation groups, Plumas County officials, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company, along with other stakeholders have reached a landmark agreement to enhance fish and wildlife habitat, maintain Lake Almanor lake levels, monitor water quality and provide for recreational facilities development at PG&E's Upper North Fork Feather River hydroelectric project, located in Plumas County.
