The Interstate Commerce Commission has ordered continuation of the California Zephyr train, insuring that the only passenger train serving Plumas County will remain in operation until next summer.

25 YEARS AGO … 1993

Due to increasing costs of business, newspapers of Feather Publishing Company : Feather River Bulletin, Indian Valley Record, Chester Progressive and Portola Reporter will be increased from 25 cents a copy to 50 cents a copy.

10 YEARS AGO … 2008

Glenn Harris, the new Plumas County Superintendent of Schools was officially sworn in this week by Plumas County Clerk Kathy Williams.
