Meet the candidates; Two forums scheduled May 7
The Plumas County Special Districts Association is inviting the public to attend a candidate forum to be held Wednesday, May 7, following its quarterly meeting.
The group’s meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. in the Quincy library meeting room, with the forum to immediately follow at roughly 12:15 p.m.
Association President Larry Walker said the forum would present an opportunity for the public to ask questions of the candidates vying for District 5 Supervisor.
The association is comprised of 44 members representing the county’s fire, cemetery, lighting and community service districts.
Originally there were three candidates — Jeff Engel, Jim Judd and incumbent Jon Kennedy — but Kennedy has bowed out of the race. Engel and Judd will give short introductions before the questions begin.
Candidates who are running unopposed for other elected offices have also been invited to answer questions, but will not make any introductory remarks.
