PDH holds semi-annual low-cost health screening

Feather Publishing
5/2/2014

The PDH screening begins Monday, May 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and runs through Thursday, May 8, in the North Fork Family Medicine Building on Valley View Road behind the hospital.

PDH will provide a comprehensive blood screening test for $50, bone density tests for $50 and prostate cancer screening tests for $15. In addition, a free diabetes screening test (A1C) is available.

The A1C test can identify prediabetes by measuring average blood glucose for the past two to three months. It is fast and convenient, say staffers, “just a little finger-stick,” and the result is available in about five minutes.

No appointment is necessary; however, PDH suggests patients attend according to the first initial of their last name as follows.

Monday, May 5, A – F

Tuesday, May 6, G – M

Wednesday, May 7, N – S

Friday, May 8, T – Z

Do not eat for 12 hours prior to the blood draw. Continue normal intake of water and medications.

More information about the spring low-cost health screening is available at 283-5640.
