Submitting an Obituary to Feather PublishingFeather Publishing offers two different styles of notices to choose from:
The Death Notice is free of charge, and includes basic information such as decedent's age, residence, place and date of birth, list of survivors (immediate family only by name; grandchildren by numbers only), and funeral information.
An Obituary Notice includes more information, such as decedent's extended family, employment, military service and hobbies. There is a $80 fee for up to 350 words, and an additional $10 for each 50 words over the 350.
Also available for an additional $10 is the option of running a photo of the decedent with the Obituary Notice. Photos can be emailed as a jpg attachment, or we can use a snapshot. We will return the snapshot only if specifically requested.
The Obituary or Death Notice can be emailed as a Word document (.doc) or pasted into the body of an e-mail to email@example.com, mailed via postal service to Feather Publishing, P.O. Box B, Quincy, CA 95971, or FAX 530-283-3952; or dropped off at any of our offices in Plumas County.
Payment by check, cash or credit card is required at time the Obituary is placed. Credit cards can be taken over the phone (530) 283-0800 or included in the email with the obituary.
Our deadline is Monday by 9:30 am to run in that week’s edition.
