SOLICITATION TO SUBMIT PRICE QUOTES

FOR WILDFIRE RISK REDUCTION PROJECTS IN AT-RISK COMMUNITIES

THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEVADA AND IN THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN.

The Nevada Fire Safe Council is soliciting quotes for the following project work related to completion of hazardous fuel removal and wildfire threat reduction for at-risk communities across the state of Nevada. Quotes received will apply for projects during the period from January 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010. Work will be completed in accord with legal requirements and fuel reduction prescriptions developed by fire professionals. The deadline for quote submission is 5:00 P.M. (PST), December 31, 2009. Quotes must be submitted to the Fire Safe Council, P.O. Box 2724, Carson City, NV, 89702. Submission forms and more details are available at www.nvfsc.org or by calling (775) 884-4455. Quotes are solicited for specific project needs as follows:

Hand crews and accompanying equipment.

Mechanical treatment including mastication and/or whole tree removal.

Chipping and/or tub grinding of accumulated fuels.

Loading and transport of chipped or ground material.

Application of pre-emergent herbicide.

Qualified foresters for fuels reduction project design.

Reviews, surveys, and reports to ensure the identification and protection of threatened or endangered animal and plant species.

Reviews, surveys, and reports to ensure the identification and protection of historically important sites and artifacts.

The Nevada Fire Safe Council will issue purchase orders for work based on quotes received and contractor capability as described on the quote submission form. Contractors who respond to this solicitation will be given preference in developing and issuing project purchase orders. However, the Nevada Fire Safe Council reserves the right to contact additional contractors and seek additional quotes in an effort to secure the combination of price and capability deemed to be in the best interest of the Council and the communities served.
