Layman Association Water Tank Replacement and Renewal of Special Use Permit

Opportunity to Comment on: The Layman Association Water Tank Replacement and Renewal of a Special Use Permit. The Beckwourth Ranger District proposes to allow the Layman Association to replace a 20,000 gallon, steel "bolted" water tank, that was damaged during the winter of 2012/2013.  The new tank would have a diameter of approximately 18 ft. 6 inches and would sit on a gravel base having a diameter of approximately 21 feet. The tank would be 12 feet high and dark green in color. The tank base would be reconnected to the existing water inlet and outlet piping to the distribution lines. This water tank supplies domestic water to the Layman Cabins. The proposed decision would include the renewal of a twenty-year Special Use Permit authorizing use of the tank and water transmission lines.
The project is located on the Beckwourth Ranger District, Plumas National Forest; Mohawk, California, Township 23N, Range 12E, Section 30. The project is located approximately alongside National Forest System Road 23N04, approximately 0.6 miles from pavement end. and behind Camp Layman. A Project Initiation Notice detailing the proposal is available for review at the Beckwourth District Office. This comment period is being provided pursuant to the March 19, 2012, order issued by the U. S. In addition, each individual or representative from each organization submitting comments must either sign the comments or verify identity upon request.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Portola City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City of Portola City Council Chambers, 35 Third Avenue, Portola, California, regarding the following matter:
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recovery Initiative (DRI) Project Closeout for 10-DRI-6789, the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and General Plan Safety Element: The purpose of this hearing is to give citizens an opportunity to evaluate the City's grantee performance (Final Grantee Performance Report), to notify the public about accomplishments funded by the grant, and for the City Council to accept the final documents.  
Your comments and attendance are encouraged.  After the public hearing, the City will proceed with the submission of this report to the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
