100 percent contained

It’s official. As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, just as the Forest Service had predicted earlier that day, the Minerva Fire is considered 100 percent contained. Mop-up and restoration work will continue.

Doesnt look contained to me….lotsa smoke coming up right now in the area where the fire began.

  Contained means that the fire is staying within established fire lines. Hot spots continue to burn within the perimeter of the Minerva Fire, but it remains contained.
