200 first doses; 800 second doses this week in Plumas

This is a big week for the coronavirus vaccine in Plumas County — the Public Health Agency will be administering 200 first doses of Moderna at a clinic Tuesday, April 13, and 800 second doses at a clinic Saturday, April 17. Both events will be held at the fairgrounds.

The first dose clinic is scheduled for 12:15 through 2 p.m., April 13. As of Monday morning, there were still appointments available. Walk-ins will be accommodated, if vaccine remains. Walk-ins are asked to show up toward the end of the clinic. “It’s best to come around 2 p.m. so we know how many extra doses we have,” said Lori Beatley, spokeswoman for Public Health.

As for the second dose clinic, those who received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine on March 20 are scheduled to receive their second dose April 17. “They should come about the same time of day that they received their first dose,” Beatley said. Appointments run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
