Animal Tales: Work continues on new location

Our volunteers and work staff have been very busy these last few weeks and are producing AMAZING results. Volunteers have sanded and scraped, patched and painted and have 2 rooms looking fresh and clean and ready for use.  We have had all the windows and two doors replaced and a ton of work has been done moving cabinets, adding shelves, taking shelves out and generally getting the building ready for the work of rescue. Propane heaters will be replacing the old, expensive electric heaters and upgraded sinks added to the kitchen. We are beyond excited!

We are planning an Open House and Yard Sale on February 12, beginning at 8am. The building will be far from complete, but we would love to give you a tour and help you see our vision for the rescue. We will have the double pane windows that were removed available, a vintage metal cabinet with dual sinks, some smaller shelves, a gas dryer and lots of smaller items available for donation to Friends.

The county is still processing our Special Use Permit and the hearing for that decision is planned for March 6. If you would like to attend the Planning Commission meeting that day we would welcome the support.

Words are really insufficient to express our gratitude to everyone who has donated and is donating to Friends. You are all helping to make this rescue vision a reality. Many thanks for your kindness and generosity.  Donations big and small all help us get to the goal.
