Animal Tales: Yard sale April 9 to support new facility
By Friends of Plumas County Animals
We are certainly starting to feel like the turtle in this race to open our rescue! It has been 15 months since buying the building was a thought; 10 months since the bid was put in for purchase of the school district surplus property; 4 months since the deed was put in Friends’ name; one month since we were granted our Special Use Permit to operate as a rescue and 29 days since we learned the opening of the rescue demanded an ADA compliant bathroom.
With this most recent setback volunteers are working hard to raise money to do this renovation. Last weekend we traveled to Reno to pick up furniture donated to us by a loving animal owner and this coming Saturday we will be having a Yard Sale and offering that furniture and much more to the public for donations to Friends.
So far our inventory consists of 2 leather love seats, dining table with 5 chairs and a bench seat, double dresser with mirror, bicycle ceiling mounts and bike hoists (4 of each), end tables, coffee table, swivel, sturdy bar stools, stoneware plates, cups/glasses/silverware, linens, TV mount, tools, oak roll top desk, car hitches and much more.
We are also receiving some antique furniture items and another load of goodies from supporters on Friday to add to the eclectic mix.
8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
1093 Lee Rd in Quincy
All donations are tax deductible and all money collected goes towards the rescue renovations.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement. This turtle may be slow but has a hard shell and a great attitude!!
