Annual end of summer community Luau fundraiser returns Sept. 17
It’s almost time for the annual Indian Valley Community Pool Luau Fundraiser. After last year’s cancelation due to the Dixie Fire, and the 2020 cancelation from COVID, this September’s fundraiser aims to replenish the coffers to keep the Indian Valley Community Pool in Taylorsville in good working order for the 2023 summer season.
The fundraiser this year will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at “The Spot” in downtown Greenville where Pine Street and Highway 89 intersect.
This year participating food trucks will each create a “Hawaiian” dish for event goers to try. The ladies of the water aerobics class will be donating desserts as usual. So far the participating food trailers have offered this menu:
- Region Burger: Polynesian Burger with grilled pineapple, mozzarella, bacon and homemade polynesian sauce, Hawaiian cole slaw and fries.
- Crushabowl: Mahalo Bowl featuring Hawaiian grilled chicken, coconut rice and grilled pineapple chutney.
- Mary’s German Grill: Kahlua BBQ pork shoulder served with rice, homemade beans, and fruit salad.
The duo Sloop Ricketts will be providing the music for the evening.
Tickets are $20. To purchase tickets, call Judy Leland at (530) 284-6775.
