The annual Eta Alpha craft fair is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at the fairgrounds.
The fair began 46 years ago when member Diane Kleine presented the idea to the group about hosting a craft fair for local artists. This has grown over the years to not only include many handcrafted items but other goods as well. Some of the items offered this year include beaded crystal prisms; wood carvings; canned jellies; leather goods; different handcrafted unique jewelry; knitted and fabric items; birdhouses; and candles. Pampered Chef and Scentsy products also will be available.
The Soroptomists will be selling See’s candy for their annual fundraiser, and door prizes and a raffle will be offered. The star of the event will be Santa himself, who will be there to listen to the little ones’ Christmas wishes between 10 a.m. and noon and from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Photos will be available for purchase, or you may take your own.
The proceeds from the craft fair are donated back into the community in the form of scholarships for graduating Quincy High School seniors; fuel bills for senior citizens in need; the food bank; local sports teams; and the annual Mother/Daughter tea for graduating senior girls.
