Annual Graeagle junior fishing derby coming on Saturday, May 20

The annual Graeagle Millpond Juniors fishing derby is set for another year of fun, with the event kicking off on Saturday, May 20 at 7 a.m., with the event casting off at 7:30 a.m. and ending at noon. Every spring, Feather River Trout Unlimited (FRTU) sponsors a fishing derby and outdoor experience for young children and their families. All junior fishermen must be under the age of 16, and little ones will need parent supervision. A limited amount of free equipment such as rods, reels and tackle will be available while supplies last. If you have your own fishing equipment, please bring it with you. There will also be a fly tying and casting demonstration provided by the Trout Unlimited Graeagle Chapter.

The pond has been stocked by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife, and many thanks go to local fisheries expert Amber Mouser from FRTU.
