The Maidu Summit Consortium is hosting the “Big Time” Logging Jamboree on Saturday, June 4, at Chester Park from 1 to 5 p.m.  Working in conjunction with The Almanor Foundation, this much anticipated first event of the season will raise money to purchase seedlings to begin the regrowth of the forests destroyed by the Dixie Fire.

The event will offer 10 categories of competition with prizes of $325 per event sponsored by local businesses and a cash prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the over-all logger sponsored by the Lake Almanor Community Foundation

Live music will be played throughout the afternoon by Susanville band Timeless hosted by Ace Hardware. Guests can enjoy Indian artisans, other crafts and refreshments from a variety of vendors including popular Indian Tacos. Beverages being poured by The Almanor Foundation.

“We are very excited to partner with the Maidu Summit Consortium to launch “the season” at Lake Almanor and what more fitting way than to raise funds to help return our lake to its original beauty,” says Joyce Ruschaupt, board director and events chair for The Almanor Foundation.
