Business Scene for the week of 9/4/19

NEW LOCATION FOR OWENS

Roberts Owens has relocated his RCO Muscle Therapy from the Village Center in Graeagle to the old Graeagle School House. He splits his time between his Reno and Graeagle offices and is in Graeagle Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, or by appointment. Robert specializes in sports and other medical massage techniques. He opened his office here just a year ago.

SAME GREAT BURGER, NEW NIGHT

The very popular Burger Night at the Main Street Sports Bar & Lounge is moving from Wednesday night to Monday night so patrons watching Monday Night Football on their giant screens can enjoy one of those delicious burgers. The Monday Night Trivia contest has stopped, but will return later this fall. Lounge owner Karen Powell was also quick to add that they will continue Taco Tuesdays and Karaoke Thursdays following the Thursday night football game.

FLOOR MODEL CLEARANCE

As part of celebrating Mountain Mattress’ 4th anniversary, owners Amy and Zach Caldeira are having a clearance sale on all of their showroom models with savings up to 40 percent on headboards, mattresses, frames and more. They said they are making room for new products. Also, they are now open on Sundays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. so shoppers can browse the store every day of the week! They carry name brand mattresses and bedding products and have recently added Furniture of America featuring quality furniture for every room in your home.

CHANGING WITH THE SEASON

The Lake Almanor West Golf Course is changing with the season. The last day to enjoy lunch at the Almanor West Grill is Saturday, Sept. 7, and then they will be buttoning up for the winter. So for the next few days be sure to enjoy the great views from the patio as you dine. There are also golf specials running throughout the month of September, be sure to check it out!

NEW HOURS IN EFFECT

  Traci Turner, owner of Quincy Thrift & Co., tells us the store has new hours and is now open Wednesday through Saturday, closed Sunday to Tuesday. They have treasure trove of gently used merchandise to browse through, from household goods to children’s toys and clothes to seasonal wear for every member of the family.

SPECIAL YARD SALE SUNDAY

Cheri Sposito, president of the Calpine Improvement District, says her community is having a huge town-wide yard sale Sunday, Sept. 8, beginning at 8 a.m. Look for the balloon-marked participating properties and staged parking area.

FIRST FRIDAY AT THE BLUE GOOSE

The next First Friday artists’ reception at the Blue Goose Gallery of Artists is this Friday, Sept. 6, from 4 – 7 p.m. Featured artists for the evenings theme, The Mountains Are Calling, are David Sigel, Barbara Ann Ramsey, John Cox and Lynda Alberico. Deb Groesser says the evening offers live art demonstrations, door prizes, refreshments and lots of camaraderie. The Gallery is in Chester.

SATURDAY MARKET IN CRESCENT MILLS

Lisa Forcino, owner of the acclaimed Crescent Country, is hosting the next Saturday Market in her store’s parking lot this Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Vendors will be selling fresh produce, household items, arts and crafts, and more. Vendors interested in reserving a spot, which is just $10 for a 10×10 ft. space, call Lisa at 284-6016.
