Busy month ahead

Wow! It’s hard to believe we’re approaching the 4th of July already.

We have a lot of great events and activities coming up — if you’re nostalgic for small town family fun, you’ll want to watch for the Chester Progressive’s 4th of July calendar of events happening around Plumas County and of course keep checking the Chamber’s online calendar.

Our annual membership meeting was held during the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce Wine & Dine on June 1. The dinner was a huge hit, with tickets selling out and the community honoring Joe Rogers, our 2019 Person of the Year and upcoming Grand Marshall of the 4th of July Parade. Sharon Henry, owner of Lassen Gift, was honored as our Business Person of the Year. Our President, Susan Bryner, gave a wonderful keynote address, sharing the Chamber’s “vision for its role in building and maintaining an economically stable business environment and a community with the attractions and vitality that are needed to attract those who live, work, and invest in, and visit our beautiful area.” If you are interested in seeing the presentation, please visit:  tinyurl.com/laac-keynote. The Chamber Board is also pleased to announce that Kacie Holland and Chelsea Harrison were both elected by the members to serve on our Board.

There’s still time to register for the 4th of July Parade and the Chester Classic 4th of July Run — but hurry, because Run registration closes on Friday, June 28. Our theme for this year’s Parade is “Come Together with the Mountains.”
