Caltrans District 2 posts latest closures due to fires
Below are the current highway closures in District 2 due to wildfire incidents (as of 3 p.m. on Aug. 24). Areas of highway closures are subject to change at any time.
DIXIE FIRE:
- State Route 36 is closed from the junction with State Route 89 to the junction with State Route 32.
- State Route 36 is closed from County Road A-21, just east of Westwood, to the junction with State Route 44.
- State Route 89 is closed through Lassen Volcanic National Park, from the junction with State Route 36 to the junction with State Route 44.
- State Route 172 is closed from the west junction with State Route 36, in Mineral, to the east junction with State Route 36.
MONUMENT FIRE:
- State Route 299 is closed from approximately 4 miles west of Burnt Ranch to approximately 1.5 miles east of Junction City.
MCFARLAND FIRE:
- State Route 36 is closed from the junction with State Route 3 to approximately 1 mile west of Dry Creek.
