Caltrans District 2 released the latest closure information for area roadways as of Jan. 11 at 2:30 p.m.
- State Route 70 is currently closed in Butte and Plumas counties between Jarbo Gap and the Greenville Wye (junction with State Route 89) due to active slides. No estimated time available on highway reopening. Recent video of blasting efforts near Cresta available here.
- State Route 96 is currently closed in Siskiyou County approximately 4 miles west of Happy Camp due to an active slide. No estimated time of reopening.
One-way traffic control
- State Route 89 is currently under 24/7 one-way traffic control in Plumas County approximately 2.5 miles south of Canyon Dam/junction with State Route 147 due to an active slide. No estimated time on the highway fully reopening and area is subject to closure at any time due to continuing slide activity.
- State Route 299 is currently under 24/7 one-way traffic control (via traffic signal) in Trinity County between Hawkins Bar and Burnt Ranch due to a slide. Motorists should currently anticipate up to 10-minute delays in the area. No ETO on highway fully reopening and area is subject to closure at any time due to continuing slide activity. PLEASE NOTE: Due to continuing inclement weather, highway conditions throughout District 2 are subject to change at any time.
Motorists are urged to limit non-essential travel and monitor changing weather and roadway conditions if they must travel.
