Canyon crash

Two drivers started their Fourth of July experiences a day early — July 3 — at the Greenville Wye on Highways 89 and 70 when a white BMW pulled in front of a black Toyota pickup. The passenger in the BMW needed medical attention, as did the woman in the pickup who was complaining of knee and back pain. Her dog stayed inside the pickup during the commotion, while Plumas County Animal Control was en route. Those on scene include the California Highway Patrol, Plumas District Hospital’s ambulance, PHI’s Community Medical from Greenville and two Plumas National Forest engines. Traffic was backed up on the west side of the crash. See the CHP report for details of this incident. Photos by Victoria Metcalf
