Lady golfers putting around, teeing off, swinging, and generally having a great time outdoors in Plumas County at Graeagle Meadows Golf Course reported that they had a lovely Spring Day for the second round of the 2023 Captain’s Cup. Nineteen GMWGC members (plus eight “follow the field” players) came out for the competition June 15.

The tournament crowns the low net player of the year in a “match play” format.  Match play is a competition between two players who, in this tournament, receive one point for winning a hole, one-half point for a tie, and zero points for a loss.  Congratulations went to the overall Captain’s Cup winner Cheryl Brennan, who scored 26.5 points over the two rounds, and congratulations also went to runner-up Sharon Russell (in a tie card-off), with 21.5 points.  First Flight winners were:  Debbie Fuetsch in First Place (21.5 points) and Second Place winner Susan Anderson (20.5 points).  In the Second Flight, First Place went to Mikie Burdick (in a tie card-off), and Second Place was earned by Patty Monaghan, both with 19 points. “Play was followed by a lovely awards luncheon in the Graeagle Clubhouse,” said Carol Miller.
