Chester High grad now a senior at Davis plans career in medicine

Chester High School graduate Katelyn Nielsen (Class of 2020) is now a senior at the University of California Davis, studying biochemistry and molecular biology.

She also recently completed the UC Davis Emergency Medical Technician program, a comprehensive and competitive program that trains highly skilled EMTs. She passed the National EMT exam and ambulance license test, and is a fully qualified EMT.

After graduating from UC Davis next year, Katelyn plans to practice as an EMT and possibly attend paramedic school, while working on applying to medical school. Her goal is to become a physician, potentially serving rural and underserved areas.
