Chester-Lake Almanor transfer station reopens Wednesday

Due to the Dixie Fire burning over the Chester Landfill, the Green Waste Disposal Program for 2021 at that location has been terminated.  Green Waste will continue to be accepted at the Chester-Lake Almanor Transfer Station, the East Quincy Transfer Station and the Delleker Transfer Station at normal green waste fees.

The Chester-Lake Almanor Transfer Station will re-open this Wednesday and will be open Wednesday through Saturday for the time being from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., but will be closed during lunch.

The Solid Waste Division of the Department of Public Works would like to remind residents that no Disaster Waste will be accepted at any Plumas County-owned facilities unless and until it has been certified as being non-hazardous, subject to the conditions of the urgency ordinance to be considered by the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, Aug. 24.
