CHP report: RV down
John Ferrini, 61, of Granite Bay was driving a 2002 Ford F-350 northbound on Highway 147, approximately 2.4 miles north Highway 89 near Lake Almanor, at 6:45 a.m. Sept. 22. He was pulling a 31-foot long, fifth wheel RV at approximately 50 mph. According to the CHP, Ferrini allowed the Ford to exit the road onto the right gravel shoulder. He attempted to correct by turning to the left, but the Ford exited the northbound lane, crossed the southbound lane and left the roadway. The RV collided with a large boulder, rolled over and came to rest on the driver side on the southbound shoulder. The Ford remained upright. Ferrini was wearing his lap/shoulder harness and did not claim any injuries. Drugs or alcohol are not considered a factor in this collision.
