Congressman announces FAA grant for Nervino Airport

Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the Federal Aviation Administration awarded $882,356 in federal grant funding to two Northern California airports.

The FAA awarded $460,000 to Nervino Airport near Beckwourth to install a 12,000-gallon fuel tank that will increase the airport’s self-sustainability.

LaMalfa said, “Small, general aviation airports, like the Nervino … airport(s) in Plumas …, make up more than 90 percent of the nearly 6,000 airports in the U.S. They’re an integral part of connecting rural areas that don’t have commercial air travel while supporting many types of aviation — from business, personal, or private travel to recreational flying and air tourism. These airports serve as vital hubs that facilitate many different avenues of growth for Northern California’s economies, and this federal funding will help increase their self-sustainability and further improve air service in our area.”
